This sculpture is the result of a time in which I was thinking about the intersection between nature and spirituality, especially within the digital age. How does one truly connect to nature among the pressures of the modern industrial world? I am not sure, but I think of a quote that both worries and grounds me: "when we have lost our connection to nature, we have lost our connection to ourselves" (unknown). I also think of "Walking, in a storm, on a dull mountain path is not a relaxation (is more like a reason for being)" (Bataille, TI, 19).
